A work order was put in stating that this Coulter LH500 was not making the connection to the Beckman Instrument Computer and not powering up. We first looked at the UPS. The UPS proved to working properly. The next place we looked was with the AC power cord. We verified that the power cord was functioning properly. The next source was the power supply of the computer. We used a power supply out of another computer and the Instrument Computer still did not power up. We verified that the problem was not with power supply by connecting a jumper wire from a ground pin of the connector to the power good pin. Then we connected the power cord and the fans on the power supply came on. Finally, we disconnected all the connectors and reseated them. We plugged the unit in and powered it up. The Instrument Computer powered up and began its normal boot sequence.
Coulter AcT diff
A PM was due on this Coulter AcT diff cell counter. The PM consisted of replacing 4 filters, 2 diluent filters, 2 small check valves, 1 medium check valve, and 3 plungers. A few calibration tests were performed to ensure that the machine was calibrated and that there were no leaks or problems after the PM. The system was calibrated and returned to service.
