Heart Catheterization
I watched a heart cath being done today and learned about blockages. I learned about how to spot blockages, what a stent looked like and how stents are inserted. I got to see various procedure images and was able to see pressure waveforms on a monitor.
The image was taken from a Google search and was not part of the procedure I watched today. |
Axiom Sireskop SD
I spent the afternoon with a technician who is in charge of imaging. He had a work order on an Axiom Sireskop SD. The work order stated that the machine was not reading the insertion of the cassette and that was causing the auto collimation to not work. When we got to the room we verified the problem. We removed the bucky tray and could not find any mechanical problem with the tray. We tilted the bed and checked to see if we could see any malfunction from the bottom side. We removed a few panels on the back side to get a better view. We inserted the cassette with the bed in the upright position and the auto collimator worked. When we put the bed back in the home position the auto collimator worked again. We inserted and removed the cassette several times to see if the issue would resurface. The problem would not duplicate again so we were unable to locate the issue. The Axiom Sireskop SD was returned to service.
